A Himalayan odyssey brings some unexpected insights

Can I call myself a rational person and believe in the yeti, the allegedly mythical bipedal monster, also known as the Abominable Snowman, which is rumored to roam the Himalayan mountains?

As a former adviser to embassies and international organizations on development work in Asia, I had learned that the best approach to most topics was to suspend preconceived notions, keep asking questions and try to convince skeptics to listen to local voices. The last challenge was invariably the hardest.
