South and North Korea brace for Harris or Trump as next U.S. leader

SEOUL -- As the U.S. presidential election approaches in November, both South Korea and North Korea are moving to safeguard their own security regardless of whether Vice President Kamala Harris or former President Donald Trump wins.

South Korean and American forces kicked off an annual large-scale joint exercise Monday. This year's program includes 48 field training events, up from more than 30 in 2023.
