SYDNEY -- So-called pre-bunking is the "most important tactic" in the online battle against fake news and propaganda as it can undermine disinformation campaigns before they have even kicked off, according to former Taiwanese Digital Minister Audrey Tang.

"Instead of just debunking, which takes [place] after the fact of a polarization attack, 'pre-bunking' lets the people know that these attacks are coming," Tang told reporters in Sydney on Tuesday, after attending a conference on how technology can be used to help "save democracy."
