KUALA LUMPUR -- Japanese trading company Marubeni has opened the first Malaysian outlet of international cafe giant Tim Hortons as the brand continues its franchise push in Southeast Asia.

The first location opened on Thursday in Putrajaya, a suburb of Kuala Lumpur -- where the second store is set to debut Saturday. The partners plan to establish several dozen cafes around the capital before expansion in other areas.
