TOKYO -- Inpex will invest more than 200 billion yen ($1.25 billion) through 2030 in renewable energy projects in Australia, Nikkei has learned, with the Japanese energy group aiming to make the continent a base for exporting "green" hydrogen.

Enel Green Power Australia, a 50-50 joint venture with Italian utility Enel, will build up capacity in renewable energy from more than 300 megawatts now to between 2,000 MW and 4,000 MW by 2030.
