German Navy 'cannot just pay lip service' to aiding global order: admiral

Ships and planes cross into Pacific to join Japan and U.S. in joint exercises

LONDON -- German warships dispatched to the Indo-Pacific region soon will participate in joint naval exercises with Japan and the U.S., the officer leading the deployment said.

Germany will "contribute to maintaining the rules-based international order," Rear Adm. Axel Schulz, commander of the German Navy's 2nd Flotilla, told Nikkei.
