SYDNEY -- More than two dozen people were killed in an ambush in Papua New Guinea's highlands, Australian media reported, in the largest massacre in recent times linked to long-running tribal feuds in the country.

The killings occurred on the weekend in Enga province and come amid an intensifying tribal conflict in the highlands of the Pacific island nation that has been exacerbated by an influx of illegal weapons.
