HONG KONG -- Baidu's online marketing revenue fell in the April-June quarter, as the Chinese search engine leader's push into artificial intelligence failed to boost its biggest revenue source amid China's economic headwinds.
Online marketing revenue, which accounted for more than half of the Beijing-based company's total revenue, decreased 2% on the year to 19.2 billion yuan ($2.69 billion). Non-online marketing revenue grew 10%, mainly driven by the cloud business.
