SYDNEY -- Construction of nuclear power plants is emerging as a key policy topic ahead of 2025 general elections in Australia, as voters, who had long resisted adopting nuclear energy, shift their views amid inflation.

Peter Dutton, head of the center-right opposition Liberal Party of Australia, is leading the party's push for nuclear energy.
